About The Position

HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe is seeking a Transporter PRN to join their team. This role involves performing general clerical duties, providing safe and efficient transportation of patients within the hospital, and maintaining a clean work area. The Transporter will be responsible for transporting patients with various medical equipment and ensuring patient modesty is maintained. The position requires knowledge and skills to provide care for a diverse patient population, including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

Requirements

• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs general clerical duties such as filing, answering phone, charting reports, and processing requisitions.
• Provides safe and efficient transfer or transportation of patients from one area within the hospital to another.
• Maintains work area and cost of supplies used.
• Transports patients to and from imaging areas.
• Escorts patients and families to all hospital areas.
• Assists file clerk with clerical duties.
• Supports the philosophy of HCA Conroe by facilitating cooperation of hospital staff in a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care.
• Consistently provides outstanding service to all patients, physicians, fellow employees, and guests.
• Displays initiative to see processes through to completion and helps without being asked.
• Maintains awareness of own limitations and seeks guidance from appropriate personnel as needed.
• Prioritizes activities based on demands for service.
• Remains alert to the detection of errors in own work and the work of others with appropriate corrective actions initiated.
• Demonstrates an understanding of patient rights, including confidentiality, informed decision-making, and privacy.
• Practices cost-efficiency.
• Performs technical skills proficiently in accordance with established standards.
