About The Position

The Transporter is responsible for the safe and efficient transport of clients and staff members to and from designated locations, including transport after discharge, field trips and appointments. This position requires vehicle inspections, completion of required paperwork, and adherence to safety protocols. The Transporter must maintain a valid Class C-CDL license with the appropriate passenger endorsement and comply with all applicable policies and regulations. Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision. Interact professionally with other employees, customers and vendors. Work independently, while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees, as required. Ability to work cooperatively in a group/team setting. Ability to show respect to others. Ability to take guidance and direction from supervisors. Ability to report to work with clean hygiene. Ability to adhere to Company/Program dress code standards. Ability to professionally communicate with others. Ability to safely operate a multi-passenger vehicle or bus for up to 8 hours daily. Strong attention to detail for completing required paperwork and vehicle inspections. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Capable of completing vehicle inspections in accordance with agency guidelines. Adhere to all policies and procedures of the Center, except in cases where reasonable accommodation may be required and feasible. Ability to adapt to changing conditions and respond to emergencies as necessary. Attending all scheduled work hours, meetings, training, and other required functions. Conduct pre and post trip inspections of the vehicle(s) to ensure safe operating conditions. Maintain pre-trip logs and daily mileage logs as required. Transportation may be provided between Peace River Center facilities or to external community locations. Transport clients from the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) as needed, including after-hours trips, which may require travel outside the county. Maintain and update client sign-in logs for all trips. Complete other tasks and duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Nursing

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class C-CDL license with a passenger endorsement and a safe driving re
  • Must be at least 25 years of age
  • Must meet the minimum qualifications to be insured by the Agency’s auto insurance carrier.
  • Must submit to periodic random drug screenings
  • Compliance with all relevant regulations outlined in ADM-AP-020
  • Completion of 8 hours of professional development training annually, including all required PRC training.
  • Complete all PRC-required pieces of training.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with the public, preferably in human services.
  • Experience in transporting individuals with disabilities, the elderly, and/or children is preferred.
  • Complete all contact hours required for certification renewal (if applicable)
  • Attend all PRC clinical and administrative functions deemed appropriate by the supervisor.
  • Complete Aggression Control Technique (ACT) training
