The position involves providing safe and timely transport of patients and visitors to their requested destinations using the HEV system or responding to telephone requests. The transporter is expected to uphold self-standards and promote patient satisfaction through the use of AIDET and maintaining a customer-friendly demeanor. Responsibilities include ensuring the safety of patients and assisting them and visitors as needed when getting in and out of wheelchairs. Transporters will utilize various types of wheelchairs, stretchers, beds, and wagons for patient transport. They will receive HEV requests via iPhone and are required to document the patient's name, birthdate, location, and destination in their individual logs, along with the timeframe from the beginning to the end of transport. Prompt response is essential to minimize patient wait times.
