About The Position

The Transporter is responsible for performing patient transport duties across various departments, ensuring safe and efficient movement of patients to and from their rooms and transport vehicles. This role involves coordinating with nursing and radiology staff, monitoring patient comfort and safety, and maintaining equipment used for transport.

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED or two years relevant work experience in lieu of diploma/GED.
• Six months customer service or equivalent experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the safe, efficient, and expedited movement of patients using stretchers, wheelchairs, beds, and cribs.
• Coordinates with radiology and nursing staff regarding patient transport.
• Ensures proper method of transport by communicating with nursing staff as needed.
• Utilizes safe lifting practices in transferring patients to appropriate transport methods.
• Moves patients to and from stretchers and wheelchairs as needed.
• Assists others in lifting and moving patients.
• Performs basic patient care duties, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and privacy.
• Transports patients with O2, suction, IV, etc., monitoring status and reporting to nursing staff.
