The transporter is responsible for patient transports to and from hospital departments and for delivery of supplies to departments as necessary. The transporter takes direction from RN and Supervisory Staff and performs various other assigned tasks to assist the nursing units. These tasks may include but are not limited to frequent rounding to meet patient's needs and to reduce falls, answering call bells, assisting nursing team with a.m. or p.m. care, feed patients, stocking nurse servers, collecting dietary trays and passing water pitchers. He/she must be able to identify each patient's age-specific needs and provide appropriate care.
