About The Position

The position is for a PRN (On Call As Needed) role with shifts during the day and evenings. The primary responsibility is to perform activities related to the transportation of patients, ensuring adherence to established safety guidelines and the use of appropriate devices during transport. The role also includes providing messenger services as requested.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Less than 1 year of relevant experience required.
• Heartsaver CPR/AED certification upon hire required.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to and from clinical, ancillary and support department areas as directed.
• Assists clinical personnel in transferring patients to or from beds, chairs, wheelchairs or stretchers using appropriate body mechanics to perform patient lifts.
• Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
• Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
• Participates in educational programs and inservice meetings.
• Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
• Performs dispatching duties such as receiving transport requests, dispatching available transporters based on established priorities, coordinating transports to minimize delays and maintaining appropriate documentation.
