About The Position

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Provides safe, courteous and timely transportation for residents of DRV. Insures the safety of residents when loading and unloading passengers. Mains daily mileage logs and performs pre-trip vehicle inspections each day. Insures vehicles are cleaned on a regular basis. Assists in establishing routes and timelines for activities related to transportation. Abides by company policies and procedures and guidelines, including DRV Personnel Handbook. Complies with HIPPA privacy rules and regulations. Coordinates transportation and appointment scheduling with other departments as necessary, communicating schedule changes efficiently and quickly. Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth and personal interest. Promotes a calm yet engaging environment throughout the organization. Attends and participates in Staff meetings, in-service training programs, continuing educational programs to maintain licensure and other meetings as assigned. Follows all safety standards and performs work in a safe manner, including infection control and following OSHA guidelines. Attends meetings with Transportation Coordinator and Director of Facility Operations, keeping them apprised of situations and incidents as they occur. Performs other duties as directed by the Facility Operations Director.

Requirements

  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, and drive intermittently during working hours.
  • Requires varying degrees of pushing and pulling.
  • May be required to work outside in extreme weather conditions; rain, wind, sun.
  • Work environment is primarily in buildings and vehicles; car, van or multi-passenger bus.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Must be able to safely push a total combined weight of 250 pounds on a wheeled device (wheelchair) unassisted for purposes of securing and transporting residents in vehicles
