About The Position

In this position you will perform a variety of physical labor tasks requiring some knowledge and experience in their particular work assignments. Your work will be performed with only general supervision in repetitive and routine assignments and may be closely supervised when assisting higher level tradesman in performing more complex work. Examples of duties: helping load and unload tires, assist mechanics as needed, keeping offices, shop and shop yard clean, cleaning and polishing office floors, mowing grass, pick up and deliver parts, pick up and deliver mail, assist in the delivery of parts and mail within the Division.

Requirements

• High school education General Educational Development Diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Either possession of a current Commercial Driver's License on the date of hire, OR the North Carolina Commercial Driver's License must be obtained through completion of on-the-job training and all requirements mandated by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (Federal Registry 49 CFR 383) within 360 days of the date of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Experience operating power tools such as chainsaw, weed eater, skill saw, drill, compactor, jackhammer, etc. and/or using small hand tools such as shovels, rakes, brooms, post hole diggers, hammer, screwdriver, torch, etc.
• Experience performing manual labor
