The Idaho Transportation Department is hiring a Transportation Technician, Senior, for our Twin Falls, Idaho, office. This is an entry-level position and the first step in the Transportation Technician Engineer Horizontal Career Path series (TTE HCP).   • Utilize CADD and computer-aided drafting for highway design
  • Inspect construction sites for compliance with contract plans and specifications
  • Monitor contractor activities, including scheduling and installation
  • Maintain accurate daily records of labor, equipment, and materials
  • Perform or oversee technical engineering tasks in the field or office
  • Verify materials, costs, and contractor payments
  • Assist licensed engineers in designing highway construction projects
  • Review and draft construction plans under engineer supervision
  • Valid driver's license
  • Good knowledge of computer systems and applications used in engineering/construction and maintenance
  • Using construction plans, blueprints, drawings, specifications, maps, charts, graphs, manuals, schematics, and/or Geographical Information Systems (GIS) data
  • Providing direction, training, or assistance to others on engineering, design, construction, roadway maintenance projects, or other applicable work assignments
  • Identifying and organizing materials, tools, or equipment for construction, roadway maintenance, engineering, design projects or other applicable assignments
