About The Position

The Transportation Technician at Stormont-Vail HealthCare is responsible for performing various functions within the Transportation Department, including patient transport, courier services, employee shuttle driving, mail processing, and dispatching. This role requires effective communication with internal customers and the ability to work as part of a team to ensure the safe and timely transport of patients and items throughout the healthcare facility.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current valid Driver's License with a clean MVR and 3-year baseline review required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 2 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients, visitors, medications, specimens, blood products, and other items to authorized personnel.
• Assists in lifting patients into beds and delivering them to their required destinations.
• Drives a shuttle bus between the hospital and off-site locations, picking up and delivering employees as needed.
• Sorts and delivers USPS and inter-office mail daily, maintaining logs on items picked up and delivered.
• Operates equipment such as letter openers and scales, and answers phones to log details of requests.
• Maintains logs on items picked up and delivered, and prepares outgoing mail for processing.
