The Department of Environmental Services (DES) is seeking an enthusiastic early career Traffic Systems Engineer who’s excited to learn, grow, and help support the next generation of mobility solutions. As a member of our Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) team within the Transportation Engineering and Operations (TEO) Bureau, you’ll contribute to the development and operation of the smart infrastructure that keeps our community moving — including traffic signals, streetlights, and connected ITS technologies. In this hands-on role, you’ll gain valuable experience applying emerging technologies to real-world transportation challenges. You’ll work closely with the Department of Technology Services (DTS) and collaborate with experienced engineers to learn how traffic engineering and modern IT systems come together through networking, data management, asset management, and system integration.
