About The Position
The Transportation Supervisor position at Shamrock Foods Company is a critical role responsible for directing, planning, and coordinating the daily operational activities of the Transportation Department. This includes overseeing routing, managing delivery activities, and supervising associates within the department to ensure the efficient use of equipment and manpower. The supervisor will play a key role in reviewing dispatch operations to identify technical and operational training needs, recommending improvements to ensure timely dispatch in both transportation and warehouse settings. In addition to operational oversight, the Transportation Supervisor will analyze costs to control expenditures and maintain adherence to the planned budget. This involves maintaining standard production levels and managing overtime to achieve budgetary guidelines, as measured by weekly and monthly budget reports. The role also requires collaboration with Human Resources on all facets of transportation personnel management, including interviewing, hiring, training, terminations, and addressing disciplinary issues, all while ensuring compliance with DOT laws and company policies. The supervisor will coordinate the assignment and maintenance of all transportation equipment, including tractors and trailers, ensuring compliance with DOT safety regulations and company policies regarding equipment maintenance. The position may also involve performing other duties as assigned to meet business needs, making it a dynamic and multifaceted role within the organization.
