The position will be based in Brea, CA. Shift - Flexible work hours and shifts required; operations run 24/7, including holidays. 3rd Shift (either 4, 10-hour shifts or 5, 8-hour shifts). Schedule includes weekends with days off being connected weekdays.

Requirements

  • Previous experience and/or formal training or education in transportation including loading of trailers and store delivery procedures, preferably in the grocery industry.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations.
  • Strong leadership skills to supervise and motivate others.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills; effective with diverse people in person and over the phone.
  • Computer skills, including Excel and Word; knowledge of onboard computer systems is helpful.
  • Analytical ability for administrative tasks; mental alertness for accurate, safe work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Transportation Department activities and associates, ensuring compliance with guidelines.
  • Provide excellent customer service through timely order deliveries.
  • Route and schedule loads efficiently, ensuring merchandise is delivered in good condition.
  • Coordinate with Warehouse, Procurement, and Traffic staff for delivery schedules and backhauls.
  • Assign drivers to loads, ensuring compliance with Company and DOT guidelines.
  • Ensure drivers follow laws, regulations, check-in/out procedures, and perform safety checks. Issue road tests as needed.
  • Maintain good relations with store management through communication and visits. Handle special requests.
  • Process weekly/monthly reports.
  • Ensure department compliance with Company and government regulations
