We are seeking a Transportation Supervisor to join our team in North Haven, CT Position Description Manages and coordinates the activities of the North Haven, CT Cross dock fleet. Inspects automotive equipment, scheduling needed repair or service work. Coordinates operation and maintenance of equipment and repair facilities. Directs recording of expenses and analyzes purchase and repair costs to control expenditures. May plan and direct safety campaigns. Will train the team on all local and DOT required training. This candidate will be responsible for hiring and training staff and conducting performance reviews. He / She will manage team responsible for breaking down and sorting the freight for local routes and assist with the local delivery team load out process. Monday-Friday (4:00 am - 1:30 PM)

Requirements

  • Required to have (or ability to obtain) a DOT medical card within 60 days of being hired.
  • 2+ years working within DOT regulated area
  • Extremely organized
  • Clear and concise communicator with internal and external customers
  • Ability to utilize Advanced Transportation Technology Routing Software Omnitracs is used.
  • Critical decision making skills
  • Experience with transportation financials
  • Strong leadership abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Straight Trucks
  • 1 year of supervisor or leadership experience- leading teams/lead driver, etc.
  • Routing software experience
  • Dispatching knowledge
