Assist and coordinate in the daily operation of the Transportation department. This includes but is not limited to the supervision of staffing and activities required to meet the defined objectives and day to day operational requirements and provide a best-in-class delivery experience for Wolf and Prime Source Customers. Provide leadership and guidance by supervising to the level of business, conducting impromptu meetings as needed, coaching and disciplining employees as well as participating in the conducting of yearly performance evaluations.  Be an advocate for safety initiatives throughout the logistical supply chain. Perform additional duties as determined by the Vice President of Logistics.

  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of the logistics department, including workflow and tasks.
  • Supervise employees, which includes participating in the hiring process, scheduling, training, coaching, conducting appraisals, disciplining, and terminating. Provide leadership and guidance by establishing effective goals, communicating company policy, and providing necessary instruction and feedback.
  • Assist the Logistics Manager and VP of Logistics with the management of the department, including optimizing logistical solutions, supervision of staff, identifying business opportunities and risks and controlling expenses as relating to logistical efficiencies and workforce.
  • Special assignments: at the direction of management; research, document, and file written reports as necessary.
  • In the absence of the Business Unit Manager performs the duties necessary for the effective and efficient operation of the business unit.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, rules, and guidelines.
  • Comply with all elements of the Core Values and use the Quality System, including ISO procedures, corrective and preventative actions, the customer complaint policy, and best practices to achieve continuous process improvements and ensure total customer satisfaction.

  • Use good judgment and common sense
  • Read, Speak and Write English
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5 years experience in Wolf warehousing and logistics or equivalent
  • Microsoft Office, Word & Excel
  • Proficient in standard logistics software
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external customers
  • 2 years college
