This position is responsible for supervising designated drivers, ensuring all required training is completed, and identifying additional training needs. The role involves facilitating training activities for new and existing staff, conducting reviews and audits to ensure compliance with company policies and DOT regulations, and overseeing daily work assignments to ensure excellent customer service. The supervisor will also manage driver scheduling, coordinate equipment repairs with truck shop personnel, and ensure safety and compliance for drivers within their designated geographical area. This includes monitoring unit operation, equipment utilization, drivers' Hours of Service, and route integrity. The position assists in accident investigations, maintains performance reports, advises management on performance issues, and provides daily coaching and counseling to employees. Continuous process improvement and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders are also key aspects of this role.
