About The Position

Sofidel America of Phoenix is currently seeking a Transportation Supervisor. We are looking for a motivated candidate who desires a long-term role in a stable, supportive environment. The Transportation Supervisor supports the Transportation Manager by overseeing daily transportation operations, including shipping and receiving activities, associate training, regulatory compliance, and promoting a strong safety culture.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or high school diploma/GED required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of transportation experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least one (1) year of experience managing an hourly workforce preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work accurately, efficiently, and in an organized manner.

Nice To Haves

  • SAP experience preferred.
  • TMS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily work, productivity, and safety of transportation associates, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures, preferred work methods, planned routes, and customer service expectations.
  • Review orders and analyze requirements to select appropriate carriers; coordinate with vendor and customer traffic departments to confirm shipments and deliveries.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to monitor shipment timeliness and accuracy.
  • Work with Customer Service and Accounting to establish priorities, track shipments, and verify completion of deliveries.
  • Review and analyze carrier invoices to reconcile detention and mileage charges and validate freight claims.
  • Oversee labor hours and prepare work schedules, including additional workdays and shift adjustments as required.
  • Review delivery performance, productivity reports, and operational metrics; recommend efficiency improvements and assist in implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Perform supervisory duties to support the Transportation Manager with personnel functions such as training, evaluating, coaching, and developing staff to ensure departmental goals are achieved.
  • Lead team meetings and discussions effectively to support operational goals.
  • Perform transportation associate duties and related tasks as needed and as qualified.
