About The Position

The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for overseeing tactical freight execution, carrier performance, and strategic transportation initiatives. This role partners cross-functionally to implement programs and develop logistics solutions that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and support company growth.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in transportation and freight management.
• Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and ERP platforms.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights using reporting tools.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related discipline.
• Preferred project management experience, including leading cross-functional initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external partners, including carriers, warehousing, sales, and sourcing.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to prioritize initiatives all customers, ensuring freight requirements are met and delivery efficiency optimized.
• Assist in negotiate contracts and terms with carriers to improve service levels and reduce costs.
• Manage and review departmental budgets, ensuring alignment with company-wide financial goals.
• Oversee third-party logistics providers for end-to-end execution of less-than-truckload (LTL) deliveries.
• Monitor KPIs such as on-time delivery rate and carrier performance to drive continuous improvement.
• Support network changes including site start-ups, production shifts, and customer realignments.
• Ensure compliance with DOT (IATA, IMDG) regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
• Leverage Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and analytics tools to enhance operational visibility and decision-making.
