About The Position

The Transportation Supervisor position at Sysco Albany, LLC is a critical Operations role responsible for overseeing the activities associated with delivery operations. This position entails providing management and direction to delivery staff, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and maintaining the safety and security of the delivery department. The Transportation Supervisor will supervise the daily work of Delivery Associates, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and planned routes while providing safe and efficient customer service. This role also involves managing labor hours and consumable supplies within budget, preparing work schedules, and overseeing the proper utilization of company assets in support of the delivery department. In addition to supervising delivery staff, the Transportation Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies, such as the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). The supervisor will maintain accurate electronic logs and manage the delivery functions and productivity reporting. The role requires the supervisor to suggest efficiency ideas and cost reduction measures while assisting with the implementation of delivery changes. The Transportation Supervisor will also communicate with Sales Management and Marketing Associates to collaboratively resolve any customer or delivery issues, visit customer locations to address concerns, and maintain open communication channels with associates to monitor morale and engagement. The position requires the Transportation Supervisor to coordinate efforts with the Safety department to aid in training, conduct associate observations, update preferred work methods, and perform routine safety inspections. The supervisor will also be involved in staff selection, development, discipline, performance reviews, and terminations, ensuring that all company policies and procedures are enforced consistently and fairly. This role may also require the supervisor to perform duties of associates supervised and other related tasks as needed.
