About The Position

The position involves directing, supervising, and monitoring the performance of Transportation Officers in all aspects of transportation operations. This includes administration, regulatory compliance, officer management, safety and security, customer service, trip efficiency, reporting requirements, risk management, asset management, and adherence to policy and procedures. The role requires effective communication and support of the vision of TransCor America, LLC, ensuring alignment with company goals. The supervisor will guide staff in the safe and orderly operation of services, ensuring public safety and a secure environment for inmates, detainees, and residents. Responsibilities also include conducting staff training, reviewing operational policies, managing financial resources, and maintaining effective communication within the team and with external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Social or Behavioral Science, or a closely related field.
  • Qualifying full-time professional industry experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of four years.
  • Five years of progressive supervisory experience preferred.
  • Possess a valid Class B commercial drivers' license with air brake and passenger endorsements.
  • A valid U.S. driver's license is required.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and the Internet.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High energy level; comfortable performing multifaceted projects.
  • Ability to establish credibility and be decisive.
  • Superior interpersonal abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a supervisory role within transportation or correctional services.
  • Familiarity with federal/state laws related to transportation and inmate management.

Responsibilities

  • Direct, supervise and monitor the Transportation Officers in their performance regarding all aspects of transportation operations.
  • Communicate and support the vision of TransCor America, LLC and ensure alignment with TCA goals.
  • Guide and direct staff in the safe and orderly operation of the defined service.
  • Ensure staff training is conducted, tracked, and followed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Review operational policies, procedures, and emergency plans for compliance with laws and policies.
  • Effectively communicate responsibilities, authority, and accountability to all direct subordinates.
  • Practice sound financial management and control through overtime management and proper vehicle maintenance.
  • Conduct and/or participate in inspections of the defined service to meet or exceed standards.
  • Attend staff meetings to maintain effective communication and operational effectiveness.
  • Engage staff through mentoring, coaching, communication, feedback, and recognition.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret various documents and reports.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, and/or assigned.
