General Summary: The person in this position will handle routing & supervisory functions of the Transportation Department along with other related duties as needed. Essential Skills and Knowledge: Good working knowledge of the following: rules of effective English usage and proper grammar; personal computer operations and related business software; ethical conduct principles associated with the handling of confidential information and materials; knowledge of Baily International Of Atlanta Corporation and JT imports Operating Company including policies, procedures and business operations. Demonstrated ability to plan and organize your own work activities. Ability to analyze and disseminate numerical data; manage work time efficiently; follow procedures and policies; perform basic mathematical calculations; identify and solve problems; maintain a file system to include alphabetical, numerical, and chronological filing activities. Must possess excellent computer skills and have a working knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Essential Duties: Monitor logistics process including routing & planning freight transportation of materials, so company and department run at maximum efficiency. Monitor all inbound and outbound shipment processes and documentation Responsible for coordinating and managing the driver work load and to provide efficient completion of all routes. ensuring timely and quality service. Schedule and coordinate wholesale deliveries and backhauls. Oversee products receiving, and transfer between warehouses, and customers; Track and schedule shipments from pickup to delivery according to customer requirements, and proactively alert management in advance of possible delays while working to resolve issues. Maintain and update various databases and disseminate routing updates to management on shipping status, route status and any damage claims. Utilize computerized routing system to monitor daily customer deliveries and ensuring efficient routing schemes Supervise evening transportation staff to ensure routes are primal for following day dispatch Track, maintain, and adhere to DOT compliance "hours of service" through trip reports and mileage records Field all evening phone calls, resolving any driver routing and/or delivery issues Solve any irregular issues, working in conjunction with warehouse, purchasing and sales team Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with internal operational departments Additional job duties/responsibilities as assigned Basic Requirements: Must have High School diploma or equivalent. Must have 2+ years logistics experience Knowledge of Samsara ELD and routing system preferred Must be able to work Sundays Days and Hours: Sunday – Thurs. 1pm-9pm. With this position, hours will vary, flexibility is required.
