Requirements

3+ years in yard management, transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations.
Experience managing high-volume yard operations, trailer movement, and dock utilization
Strong analytical skills in KPI tracking, RCA, and operational performance management.
Knowledge of yard management systems (YMS), TMS

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist the manager in overseeing daily yard operations to ensure efficiency and proper trailer movement.
Track daily metrics such as Trailer Dwell Time, On-Time Trailer Moves, Dock Door Utilization, Yard Check Compliance, and Load/Unload Efficiency.
Monitor and guide the team in executing assigned tasks to meet operational goals under the direction of the manager.
Supervise the team responsible for yard flow, trailer positioning, and dock utilization, ensuring tasks are performed accurately and on time.
Provide coaching and on-the-job guidance for team members, escalating developmental needs or concerns to the manager.
Support the manager by providing input and observations to optimize these metrics further.
Act as the point of contact between the yard hostlers, sortation teams, and transportation providers, ensuring smooth communication and execution.
Support collaboration efforts initiated by the manager to minimize yard congestion and improve flow.
Monitor team activities for adherence to regulatory requirements and safety standards.
Escalate any compliance concerns to the manager for further resolution.
