About The Position

The Transportation Specialist is responsible for providing safe, high-quality, and customer-focused non-medical transportation and para-transit services to and from medical facilities, under the direction of Valley Medical Transport’s dispatch center and the team leader.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • DOT Medical Examiner's certificate required.
  • EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operators Certificate) or equivalent required within (6) months of hire.
  • Must satisfy the requirements for and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Must satisfy the requirements for a DOT equivalent physical examination to obtain and maintain a Medical Examiner’s Certificate, as well as submit to periodic drug screenings, as defined by applicable federal, state, and VH policies & regulations.
  • BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required. New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.
  • Must maintain a driving record that is acceptable with the company’s insurance carrier.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in the use of handicap aids and wheelchair lift equipment as well as the care and handling of the aged and/or the handicapped client is preferred.
  • Advanced or Basic First Aid training preferred or company will provide.
