About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: To provide transportation for our residents safely and comfortably to medical and dental appointments and admission to the facility.

Requirements

• Non-probationary license required and must be insurable.
• A driving record that will meet the criteria to be authorized to drive a company vehicle.
• Good communication skills.
• Possess ability to operate a mechanical chair lift on van.
• Experience with dealing with elderly and disabled.
• Ability to represent the facility in a positive manner.
• Have good customer service skills
• Be able to react in urgent situations.
• Pushing up to 30-45#.
• Bending, twisting and other physical activities involved in loading and unloading the van frequently.
• Handling wheelchairs of various types and weight.
• Will be required to complete an on-line van safety course and test.
• Hours of work are: Mon-Thu 8-4:30 & Fri on-call for admissions.
• Work every other week.

Responsibilities

• Operate a facility owned van: to transport residents to appointment.
• to transport new residents to facility upon admission.
• to transport resident lab, x-rays or other material as needed.
• Responsible for assuring the van meets all safety requirements and reporting any needed repairs.
• Communicate with facility via cell phone for pick-ups and changes in the driving schedule.
• Responsible for the completion of records regarding the transport of residents for billing purposes.
• Perform other assignments as directed by supervisor
