Position Summary The Transportation Shop Foreman Mechanic oversees, coordinates, and performs the mechanical repair and servicing of all transportation equipment and handles various administrative duties involved with operation of shop facility. Shift will be 2nd/3rd shift and will be discussed further in the interview process. This is a union facility/role.

Requirements

  • 4+ years experience in a related field (Maintenance, Tractor Trailor, etc.)
  • 1-2+ years supervisory experience
  • Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and Outlook

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with transportation supervisor.
  • Assign priority of work to mechanics and process repair work orders.
  • Assists in repair, diagnosis, and other tasks involved in equipment repairs.
  • Administer in-house and external repairs of fleet tractors, trailers, and reefers.
  • Ensure all maintenance management documentation and equipment is in compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Manage departments invoicing.
  • Professionally interact directly with fleet industry vendors for parts/supply ordering, repair matters, and fleet support.
  • Perform routine DOT BIT inspections.
  • Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties.
  • Ensures that shop area is clean, organized, and in compliance.
  • Must be able to work all shifts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
