ProSidian Seeks a Transportation Safety Public Health Specialist [Key Personnel | Program Manager - Exempt 874-1 Consultant] located: The United States to provide Transportation Sector related Other Solutions for National Survey of Attitudes and Beliefs on Driving, Drinking, and Drug Use on behalf of U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). These services are considered part of The ProSidian Transport & Logistics Sector Group with overall focus being Transport & Logistics (TLT) Sector Group: Solutions To Move Transport & Logistics Strategy Forward. for clients such as National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). This project offers a unique opportunity to contribute to research that aligns with our mission of making a meaningful impact. As a Public Health Specialist, you will analyze survey data to assess the public health implications of driver attitudes and behaviors related to alcohol and non-alcohol drug use. Your insights will help guide initiatives that promote road safety and improve public health outcomes. We are in search of a skilled Public Health Specialist to play a pivotal role in a comprehensive survey project focused on enhancing road safety and understanding the public health implications of impaired driving. JOB OVERVIEW As a Public Health Specialist, you will be at the forefront of analyzing and interpreting data to uncover insights into public health implications. Your role will be pivotal in driving initiatives that contribute to safer roadways and enhanced public health awareness.

  • Analyze survey data to assess the public health implications of driver attitudes, behaviors, and perceptions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategies and initiatives that address public health concerns related to impaired driving.
  • Contribute to the development of reports and presentations that effectively communicate public health insights to stakeholders.
  • Engage with public health organizations and partners to advocate for evidence-based interventions.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and ethical standards in public health analysis.
  • Ability to initiate, develop and maintain mutually beneficial client relationships
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical reports or journals
  • Ability to respond to inquiries from internal and external clients
  • Ability to write scopes-of-work, budget estimates, schedules, reports of findings, proposals, general correspondence, and other technical documents
  • Capable of effectively presenting information to top management, clients, public groups and/or boards of directors
  • Clear vision and depth perception are also necessary
  • Employee may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Employees must be sharp, focused, and alert when conducting site inspections, speaking and interacting with clients, preparing written reports of findings
  • Must be able to interact and communicate with clients at all levels (e.g. internal and external)
  • Must be able to understand and communicate in both the written and spoken words of both Spanish & English in the specialized field of Transportation Engineering and shall have the specialized knowledge and experience described below.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, & Adobe)
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Sciences, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and assess public health implications.
  • Proficiency in public health analysis methodologies, with a solid understanding of public health concepts and strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate public health insights to diverse audiences.
  • Previous experience in public health analysis, preferably in the context of transportation or behavioral health.
  • Familiarity with impaired driving and its impact on public health is a plus.
  • A commitment to upholding ethical standards in public health analysis and decision-making.
