About The Position

The Transportation Route Manager is responsible for the onboarding, development, coaching, mentoring, and performance management of all drivers and helpers. This role emphasizes establishing and maintaining positive relationships with frontline employees and involves spending a significant amount of time in the field to support and guide them.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree or High School Diploma with two years of transportation management work experience.
• Successful completion of the WM Route Manager Trainee program.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Ensure new frontline employees have the necessary tools, instruction, and feedback for successful daily duties.
• Meet with new frontline employees daily to ensure consistent communication and support during onboarding.
• Provide timely and consistent touchpoints with frontline employees to enhance daily performance.
• Regularly review best practices to improve employee performance and career goals.
• Identify and address improvement opportunities through coaching conversations.
• Lead by example to ensure safety practices are paramount with each employee.
• Conduct Root Cause Investigations for all injuries and incidents, ensuring consistent discipline and retraining.
• Document and maintain records required by regulatory agencies such as the Department of Transportation.
• Review and audit documentation related to route operations daily, following up where appropriate.
• Visit customers and customer sites to evaluate and resolve safety issues.
