About The Position

The Transportation Route Manager is responsible for the onboarding, development, coaching, mentoring, and performance management of all drivers and helpers. This role emphasizes establishing and maintaining positive relationships with frontline employees and involves spending a significant amount of time in the field to support and guide staff effectively.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree or High School Diploma with two years of relevant work experience.
• Successful completion of the WM Route Manager Trainee program.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.
• Valid Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

• Previous driver management or supervision experience.
• Previous CDL driver management or supervision experience.
• Leadership experience.
• Current or previous CDL.

Responsibilities

• Onboard new frontline employees by providing tools, instruction, and feedback for successful daily duties.
• Develop and maintain regular communication with frontline employees to enhance performance and support career goals.
• Coach frontline employees by identifying improvement opportunities and collaborating on success strategies.
• Mentor employees by leading by example and ensuring adherence to safety practices.
• Manage performance by conducting root cause investigations for injuries and incidents, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with regulatory agencies.
• Review and audit documentation related to route operations daily, following up on any discrepancies.
• Visit customers and customer sites to evaluate and resolve safety issues.
