Your Opportunity We are looking for a highly motivated Civil/Transportation Engineering Intern for our Lexington, KY Transportation Roadway Engineering group. This is the place where great ideas and rewarding careers can really take off. With a unique multidisciplinary team approach, we're equipped with state-of-the-art survey tools, simulation models, specialized design software, and computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) facilities. The ongoing success of our team allows you to set the pace of your career. This is a paid internship with full-time hours during the summer and a reduced schedule during the semester. In person work is expected. Please do not apply if you cannot work in the Lexington, KY office during the school year.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Position requires driving a company vehicle at times. A clean driving record free from significant or frequent driving offenses is required.
  • Interested candidates should be working toward a degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Preferred graduation date would be December 2025 or later.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Microstation and OpenRoads preferred
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Development of roadway plans using Microstation and OpenRoads
  • Project documentation, quantity calculations and general office assignments using Microsoft Office tools
  • Occasional field work
