About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Transportation Project Manager to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing transportation projects for local municipalities or FDOT , including planning, design, and permitting. This position offers the opportunity to lead multidisciplinary projects that improve mobility, safety, and infrastructure in our communities.

Requirements

  • 6+ Years experience in civil / transportation engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Florida (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
  • Demonstrated experience in project management for municipal or county transportation projects.
  • Working knowledge of FDOT standards, the Florida Design Manual (FDM), MUTCD, and local agency design criteria.
  • Proficiency with MicroStation / OpenRoads, AutoCAD, or similar design software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to lead client interactions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Local Agency Program (LAP) projects or FDOT coordination.
  • Familiarity with grant-funded transportation projects (e.g., CDBG, SCOP, SCRAP )
  • Experience developing cost estimates and managing subconsultants.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the design and delivery of transportation projects for local and regional government clients, including roadway, sidewalk, intersection, and multimodal improvements.
  • Serve as Project Manager for assigned projects—responsible for scope, schedule, budget, and client coordination.
  • Prepare and oversee development of plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) in accordance with FDOT and local standards.
  • Coordinate with public agencies, utility providers, and permitting authorities.
  • Conduct and/or oversee traffic analysis, safety studies, and roadway geometry design.
  • Provide guidance and technical review for junior engineering staff.
