About The Position

CDM Smith is hiring in Tennessee! We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced seller-doer business development-oriented Project Manager to join our Transportation group in Nashville, TN! CDM Smith has been providing transportation services in Tennessee for over 50 years. We are looking to expand our focus and market share in transportation design with the TDOT and new municipal clients. Flexible and remote work opportunities are available! In this position, you will be: Managing and serving as Tennessee Transportation Project Manager on transportation design projects including bicycle/pedestrian, transit, traffic, planning, new location/and widening local rural two-lane roadways, urban multi-lane roadways, multi-lane interstate and controlled access facilities with major interchanges and interchange types Arranging, facilitating and preparing for meetings and coordinating with major clients Building new business and managing relationships with key transportation leaders within TDOT and other major clients including municipalities and contractors for design build throughout Tennessee. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 10 years of related experience.
  • PMP (PMI), CCM or DBIA certification is required (within 12 months of hire or promotion onto the Approved Project Manager list).
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, transportation engineering, or related degree.
  • 10 minimum years of related experience in either Transit Planning or Transit Design or both combined
  • PE License and/or AICP strongly desired
  • Previous experience managing transit projects
  • Previous experience managing urban design programs for multimodal transportation and pedestrian improvement projects.
  • Previous experience assisting with the proposal process and presenting/meeting with transportation clients.
  • Strong experience meeting and working with transit agencies.
