About The Position

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc (CEC) is seeking an entrepreneurial candidate to assist in the expansion of the firm’s transportation engineering practice by leading the firm’s roadway design efforts in Pennsylvania. This position will provide both professional and technical growth opportunities working with local and regional teams of transportation professionals as we continue expanding our transportation services to public sector clients. CEC is investing in the growth of our transportation services, and this position is a key aspect of that investment. The transportation engineering practice provides roadway and traffic design services to local and state highway departments as well as the real estate development, solid waste, natural gas, mining, power and manufacturing market sectors. This position represents a tremendous opportunity for an individual with the drive and expertise needed to assist in the growth of the transportation engineering practice within the firm. The transportation engineering practice in the Pittsburgh Office is initially focusing on the PA, OH and WV geographies, with the potential to expand nationwide. Requirements

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering
  • P.E. Registration required
  • Strong business development, proposal writing, communication, staff development and organizational skills
  • 10 years’ experience in providing roadway and traffic design services
  • 5 years’ experience managing projects and coordinating with other disciplines
  • Experience in site grading and drainage, hydrology and hydraulics, stormwater management, erosion and sediment pollution control, and utilities
  • Diverse roadway geometric design, pavement design, construction document preparation, Right-of-Way Plan preparation and regulation knowledge
  • Experience in proposal preparation and price estimating
  • Experience in Roadway Design Plan Preparation and Driveway Permitting, including Right-of-Way acquisition and application preparation
  • Working knowledge of InRoads and/or AutoCAD
