This role requires: Technical expertise in the NEPA process and one or more of its disciplines. Experience with the highway/bridge sector, specifically with Illinois DOT projects, is strongly preferred. Requirements

  • 4-year degree in engineering, planning, environmental science, or related field
  • 10 years or more of related work experience, with experience supporting Illinois DOT projects preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements preferred.
  • Relevant professional certifications (PE, AICP) are desirable, but not required
  • Previous consulting experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage and/or deliver NEPA documents for highway/bridge/rail projects in Illinois.
  • Serve as the environmental lead on moderate sized projects and/or task/discipline lead on complex projects.
  • Provide technical guidance to team members within areas of expertise.
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with other disciplines involved in projects (public involvement, roadway, bridge, drainage, construction).
  • Implement Parsons’ quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) system including reviewing work products and identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Actively participate in public involvement activities (meetings, presentations, etc.)
  • Support business development activities including project pursuits and preparation of letters of interest.
