What You Will Contribute to OHM Advisors The Transportation Project Engineer works independently or as a member of a design team performing road design tasks for Local, County, and ODOT projects out of the Akron, Cleveland, or Columbus offices. This individual works directly for the Project Manager. As a trusted member of OHM Advisors’ Transportation Group, you will join a growing, mission-driven team of innovative thinkers who collaborate daily, using our combined gifts and talents to continually advance the communities we serve.

Requirements

  • Must be registered as a Professional Engineer in Ohio.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field required with a focus on Transportation.
  • Have 5+ years’ experience in the development of roadway/highway design plans.
  • Understanding of ODOT design criteria, standards, specification, and plan preparation.
  • Experience working in OpenRoads Design and/or Civil 3D.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills, good organizational skills, and enjoy working in a team environment.
  • Positive attitude and eagerness to grow our Transportation Team in Ohio.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the collection and analysis of data for roadway/highway and infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare construction plans and documents.
  • Perform design calculations.
  • Develop and prepare design specifications.
  • Perform project quantity estimates and construction cost estimating.
  • Organize scheduling of specific assigned tasks and assignments.
  • Understanding OHM services and how they relate to the client's organization and needs.
