About The Position

BETA is seeking an experienced Transportation Project Engineer to join our team. This position will play a key role in performing highway design, developing contract plans and documents, and mentoring junior staff. This position will also collaborate across our multiple service areas, assist with business development, project pursuits, and coordinate projects with our clients. Preferred location is BETA’s Manchester office. Candidates should have flexibility to work from our other office locations. BETA also offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing employees to request working remotely up to 2 days per week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, or related field
  • Professional Engineer license, preferred
  • 5 to 10 years of related engineering experience in highway design, stormwater management, ADA compliance, and roadway construction practices
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, Civil3D, Microstation, OpenRoads Designer
  • Experience with MUTCD, AASHTO, DOT design requirements
  • Experience with RIDEM and CRMC permitting regulations
  • Must be able to collect field data and measurements including but not limited to roadway, sidewalk, and utility assets; and perform asset inspections
  • Must be able to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Must be able to perform field work in both hot and cold weather (rain and/or snow)
  • Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Applicants must be eligible for employment in the USA without sponsorship.
