We are seeking a Transportation Project Director to join our team in Atlanta, GA, to lead and work on various projects for the Georgia Department of Transportation.

Requirements

  • B.S. and/or M.S. in Engineering with a concentration in Transportation.
  • 15-20 years of relevant experience in highway, roadway, traffic and/or bridge engineering.
  • P.E. license.
  • Experience leading transportation design projects for the Department of Transportation (preferably Georgia).
  • Relationships with GDOT and local municipalities.
  • Operations experience (led a P&L, division, etc).
  • Contract and Project Management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Public speaking and persuasive ability.
  • Technical design, writing, computer, and communication skills.

  • Experience with managing people, project scope, budget and schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow AtkinsRéalis business with GDOT.
  • Support business development and entire project portfolio for GDOT.
  • Work closely with the Georgia Sector Manager, GDOT KAM, TPO, and other GDOT Division Managers.
  • Set and implement business strategy and client development along with staff development.
  • Utilize existing relationships to identify and pursue business opportunities.
  • Recruit top technical staff.
  • Promote design excellence and provide leadership and mentoring.
  • Participate in strategic planning for the business unit to maximize profitability, marketing capabilities, operational efficiencies, and quality.
