About The Position

The Transportation Product Owner is responsible for defining user stories, prioritizing the team backlog, and validating that the team’s work meets its intended purpose. Works closely with the product management team and other stakeholders to ensure that we are building the right things at the right time. Responsible for understanding the market and both internal and external customer needs. Keeps quality at the forefront of the team’s efforts and collaborates with people from business and technical backgrounds daily. Establish product Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other business metrics to optimize the product.

Requirements

  • 5 plus years experience as a business analyst, product management with ecommerce/digital products and service or online product marketing.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Experience working in a hybrid agile design, development and or product management environment.
  • Experience with creating charts and graphs in excel and google sheets for trending and demonstrating performance.
  • Self directed and takes initiatives to problem solve in a collaborative and time effective manner.
  • A sharp eye for detail and excellent organization skills.
  • Ability to adapt deliverables and plans as priorities shift.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects in a dynamic, highly collaborative environment.
  • Proven problem solver willing to take on a challenge and complete the effort.
  • Familiar with difference in interactions on desktop, tablet, mobile
  • User Acceptance Testing experience

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of user centered design principles is a plus.
  • Previous experience in iterative design.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver product features and functionality that meet or exceed customer needs and business goals.
  • Use customer feedback, research, market and data analysis to validate product/service roadmap direction.
  • Participate in program increment (PI) planning to help the agile team define its objectives for the PI, negotiate with others, and communicate the team’s plan.
  • Develop, write, and prioritize user stories and bugs needed to incrementally deliver value to customers. Stories may cover new work, changes to existing work, and responding to problems that arise from solutions in the production environment.
  • Collaborate daily with cross-functional teams to solve problems, provide feedback, and accept completed work.
  • Identify communication, training, metrics, and other needs that facilitate putting solutions into production and assessing use and impact. Collaborate with others as necessary to fill those needs.
  • Act as the primary voice of the customer and the embodiment of the product vision for the agile team. Champion the 'why' behind each feature, ensuring the team understands the problems they are solving and the value they are creating.
  • In alignment with the business objectives set by the Product Manager, define, monitor, and analyze feature-level Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and product usage data to measure the impact of the team's work and inform backlog priorities.
  • Maintain a constant and transparent partnership with the Product Manager to review the product roadmap, provide feedback on feasibility and effort, and ensure the team backlog is always a reflection of the organization's strategic priorities.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for the development team, facilitating day-to-day communication with business and technical stakeholders to clarify requirements and dependencies.
  • Communicates and tracks business value and outcomes of their specific product(s).
  • Establish product Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other business metrics to optimize the product.
  • Coordinate communication, training and change management activities.
  • Prepare and participate in PI planning, iteration planning, backlog refinement, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
