About The Position

AECOM is seeking an experienced Transportation Planning Manager to join our New England Transit Market Group. Daily Duties and typical Responsibilities: Under limited supervision, performs advanced and/or complex duties demonstrating full use of economic, financial, marketing, planning, accounting, statistical and/or other management science theory and techniques Applies sound professional judgment in solving a variety of problems Has lead responsibility for a designated area or function Completed work is reviewed for adequacy in meeting objectives Lead and manage complex transportation planning projects, leveraging advanced planning methodologies, stakeholder engagement, and innovative pilot models, while upholding AECOM’s values and delivering high-impact, sustainable mobility solutions

Requirements

  • BS/BA +8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Nice To Haves

  • 10 years transportation experience
  • PMP Certification
  • Experience in Multimodal planning, demand modeling, economic analysis, Safety and Security, Workforce Development, Operations and Maintenance, Leadership Skills
  • Experience as Project Manager, Task Leader, or Deputy PM on significant projects
  • Experience using concept maps to structure processes, roles, and workflows
  • Experience in organizing feedback sessions and consolidate recommendations in key projects
  • Experience in replicating successful models in new areas and coordinate integration of multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage multimodal transportation projects (feasibility, corridor, master plans, economic and O&M studies)
  • Assign, monitor, and mentor project teams, ensuring quality and timely delivery
  • Integrate transit and program models, and innovative approaches from concept maps into project frameworks
  • Facilitate the development and scaling of successful transit teams. Lead the creation, piloting, and scaling of teams for new markets and regions
  • Develop timetables and train chart tools for fleet and FTEs
  • Conduct operational modeling of new service specification
  • Develop fleet sizing exercises and alternative options for mixed fleet operations
  • Design and facilitated O&M requirements, functionalities and identify data and gaps
  • Analyze Operating Contract and determine opportunities and requirements
  • Conduct public involvement, organize and lead stakeholder meetings, and consolidate feedback.
  • Act as a visible leader and trusted advisor to clients and internal teams
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret transportation data for decision-making
  • Produce high-quality deliverables: graphics, reports, web-based products
  • Develop and assess conceptual alternatives and design options
  • Consolidate recommendations based on stakeholder input and technical analysis
  • Collaborate with local Business Development and Senior Management for project pursuits.
  • Build relationships with clients, industry partners, and contractors
  • Conduct QA reviews, ensure compliance with AECOM standards, and champion continuous improvement
