AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Transportation Planning Engineer Intern – Summer 2026 to join our Denver, CO office. AtkinsRéalis is a world-class engineering services and nuclear organization. For over 50 years, we’ve partnered with public and private clients across the U.S. to deliver infrastructure planning, engineering, construction, environmental consulting, urban planning, architecture, and program management. Our Internship Program, Explore, is designed for college students pursuing a degree in a STEM field and provides opportunities to learn what it’s like to work in a professional environment and apply what’s learned in class to the real-world challenges we face every day.

  • Support our team with transportation planning tasks that could include: Traffic modeling, Data collection, Safety analysis, Multi-modal planning and design, Public engagement
  • Assist with documentation and preparation of reports.
  • Contribute to preparation of design plans
  • Assist with data analysis, charts and graphics
  • No experience is generally required if accepted into a Bachelor's or Master’s degree program in a related technical field.
  • Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil engineering Bachelor’s degree or related field, or be enrolled in a Master’s program in Civil Engineering or Urban Planning from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2026).
  • Math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn.
  • Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases.
  • Interest in transportation and traffic engineering.
  • Good computer skills and be able to utilize standard office software.
