Transportation Operations Technician I - Temporary
About The Position
The Agency of Transportation is seeking temporary Transportation Operations Technicians in Rockingham. This position will be responsible for various tasks related to highway maintenance, such as repairing guardrails, cutting trees/brush, patching roads, picking litter, ditching, and more. It is anticipated that these positions will work 40 hours per week for approximately six months. Who May ApplyThis position, Transportation Operations Technician I - Temporary (Job Requisition #54656), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week. Please Note: This position is being recruited at multiple levels. If you would like to be considered for more than one level, you MUST apply to the specific Job Requisition.
Requirements
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- An incumbent must live within reasonable proximity of assigned workstation.
- Possession of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required for the successful completion of original probation.
- An incumbent must complete all VTTC required coursework within six (6) months or be enrolled.
