That’s why we say we offer far more than furniture. We’re Furnishing Knowledge. Job Overview KI is seeking a Transportation Manager based out of our corporate office in Green Bay, WI. The primary responsibility of this position is all outbound and inbound movement of product or materials. This role includes carrier capacity planning, carrier relationship management and rate negotiation. The Transportation Manager will oversee our Transportation Planners and will also have oversight of company truck fleet operations and 3rd party warehouse operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business with an emphasis on Supply Chain or related disciplines
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in a Supply Chain related field; preferably Transportation
  • Strategic and innovative thinker
  • Analytical skills with the ability to break down complex problems
  • Ability to lead teams resulting in positive outcomes
  • Broad knowledge of logistics principles and practices
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to relate, communicate, and negotiate clearly and effectively
  • Strong proficiency in data manipulation including query writing skills
  • Advance MS Excel skills; leveraging M365 and other AI tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Blue Yonder TMS is preferred
  • CSCMP, ISM or APICS certifications are highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Track key performance indicators for logistical operations & identify performance improvement opportunities
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce logistics cost/improve service
  • Ensure fleet operates DOT compliant and cost effectively
  • Monitor seasonal truck/trailer capacity requirements
  • Implement tactics to surge capacity for seasonal peaks
  • Identify, negotiate rates and onboarding carriers as needed
