This position Manages a fleet of professional drivers ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to safely, efficiently and effectively provide industry leading service to our customers, while building relationships with drivers to promote career growth and longevity. Essential Job Functions The essential functions listed below represent the duties and responsibilities of the Transportation Manager position. Manage a fleet of professional drivers by establishing expectations, coaching and monitoring individual performance metrics for personal and professional success Coaching to performance metrics may include safety, on time service, truck utilization, amongst others while making sure we are meeting expectations Ensure regular training expectations are met Professional verbal and written communication utilizing various technologies (i.e. Outlook, in-cab messaging, phone systems, etc.) Enact efficient and creative plans to ensure safe and on time service for customers and for drivers’ prescheduled time off. Professional interdepartmental communications to facilitate collaboration on company goals. Make cost-effective decisions in line with company goals and expectations. Troubleshoot daily challenges for both customers and professional drivers Manage payroll additions for professional drivers experiencing unexpected time off due to mechanical failures, customer challenges, and other potential delays Prompt attendance for all scheduled shifts Confidentiality is an expectation of this position due to exposure to medical and payroll information
