About The Position

Pathmark Transportation is seeking a Transportation Manager to oversee and manage its transportation operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating transportation activities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and optimizing operational efficiency. The position is located in Douglasville, GA. The qualified candidate will coordinate all activities of routing, delivery performance, customer support, and driver recruiting. The Transportation Manager will oversee worker and driver training, performance feedback, and provide disciplinary recommendations when necessary. Requirements

Management experience in a high-volume, fast distribution environment
Proven experience in transport management or a related field
Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices, including Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
Knowledge of fleet maintenance procedures
Understand the geographic territory of Atlanta and surrounding states
Strong team player that thrives in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated leadership ability in safety and employee development & retention
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of operations
Flexibility to work weekends and nights occasionally
Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds
May be required to get qualified to drive Non-CDL equipment
Possess a “can do” attitude with a “will do” work ethic
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure
General computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook)
Excellent problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

Ensure all work is safely performed according to Pathmark Transportation approved procedures, standards, and specifications
Directly lead all activities for drivers and support personnel
Plan and coordinate transportation operations to meet customer needs
Monitor transportation costs and performance metrics
Manage a team of drivers and logistics personnel
Oversee vehicle maintenance and repair schedules
Resolve transportation-related issues in a timely manner
Daily load planning and routing per customer delivery schedule and times for efficiency and cost reduction
Provide guidance to subordinates on goals and objectives on a weekly basis
Be responsible for employee development, accountability, coaching, and counseling
