About The Position

The Transportation Manager is responsible for overseeing the transportation department, ensuring the safe and efficient transport of individuals in accordance with company policies and procedures. This role involves managing staff, coordinating schedules, and maintaining transportation logs, while also addressing grievances and conducting performance evaluations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in transportation management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database management software.
  • Strong communication skills and computer literacy.
  • Supervisory or management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the hiring, training, and scheduling of drivers.
  • Assist the Transportation staff in daily scheduling and coordination of transportation.
  • Check the schedules completed by the Transportation staff for accuracy.
  • Conduct drivers' quarterly meetings and safety meetings.
  • Participate in all required meetings including staff meetings and quality improvement meetings.
  • Establish a positive rapport with individuals and team members.
  • Address and resolve grievances within the requested timeline.
  • Manage staff, preparing work schedules and assigning specific duties.
  • Ensure all transportation staff members are updated on policies and procedures.
  • Interact closely with staff to resolve concerns as they arise.
  • Manage and maintain a fleet of A.D.A accessible minibuses and ambulatory vehicles.
  • Keep all transportation logs, fuel cards, vehicle maintenance, and mileage records organized.
  • Address and resolve drivers' personnel issues, including disciplinary actions.
  • Conduct and monitor drivers' performance evaluations annually or as needed.
  • Submit and manage all monthly reports, ensuring daily updates for accuracy.
  • Perform data entry into the system, updating pertinent information daily.
