About The Position

Working as a Laundry Transportation Manager, you are responsible for ensuring departmental efficiencies in a safe working environment and that orders to the customers are filled and delivered as accurately and efficiently as possible while being aware of the needs and conditions of additional plant departments to assist in planning laundry productivity to provide the highest possible level of service.

Requirements

• Ability to identify a problem, propose solutions, and have the ability to execute possible solutions to problem-solve.
• Ability to make decisions regarding production, distribution, and scheduling.
• Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
• Exhibit initiative, sense of urgency, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership.
• At least 1 to 3 years combined operations/supervisory experience required.
• Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure material movement is timely, cost-effective and in accordance with all applicable state and federal regulations.
• Manage the delivery drivers and their schedules.
• Manage transportation personnel to ensure achievement of goals including a target of 98%+ on-time delivery.
• Train drivers and distribution personnel and teach safe driving practices.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
• Design, implement and schedule DOT mandated Hazmat training sessions and Safety training sessions.
• Ensure a safe work environment for employees.
• Inform Operations Manager of any problematic situations related to laundry operations.
• Direct and maintain company owned or leased fleet including ongoing maintenance and fleet rotation plan.
