About The Position

This position leads, manages, and supervises the overall day-to-day operations of the transportation routing and information systems and operations. Supervises transportation specialists, operate systems, databases, and software to research, gather, and report data. Makes recommendations for changes and enhancements to automated transportation systems. Assists with the fiscal responsibility related to operations of the department and its utilization of resources with focus on continuous improvement. There may be some extended periods of time spent in a vehicle traveling to various parts of Wicomico County.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Five (5) years of managerial and supervisory experience.
Experience in a school transportation program.
Experience and knowledge in the transportation of special need students.
Experience in creating work schedules to maximize use of resources.
Experience with computer-assisted routing software.
Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the organization, function, laws, regulations, and procedures of school bus transportation operations.
Ability to plan and coordinate bus routes and schedules.
A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
Possession of a current valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
Must provide a cell phone for use on the job.

Nice To Haves

CDL with passenger, school bus endorsement, and air brake endorsements preferred.
