About The Position

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Transportation Management Assistant to support our Transportation team. This role is instrumental in ensuring operational continuity through administrative support, delivery coordination, reporting, and workforce documentation. Shift: Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5pm Starting Pay Rate: $26.00 per hour to $30.00 per hour

Requirements

  • 2+ years of administrative or operations support experience in a distribution or logistics environment
  • Working knowledge of warehouse or distribution systems preferred (e.g., WMS, AS400)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to develop reports is a plus.
  • Familiar with food service operations a plus

Responsibilities

  • Track deliveries and communicate service issues.
  • Collaborate with the transportation team, sales, and other departments to support customers and drivers.
  • Complete driver check-in at route return, including handheld/scanner issues, product returns, and paperwork.
  • Troubleshoot delivery handheld devices and maintain related repair records.
  • Manage backhaul scheduling and communicate with vendors and drivers.
  • Route delivery schedules once per week and provide relief routing as needed.
  • Maintain reporting for accuracy, productivity, and maintenance.
  • Coordinate between supervisors and drivers to submit expense reports.
  • Maintain new-hire files.
  • Fleet fuel/tax reporting, licensing, and insurance to comply with various government agencies.
  • Assist with communication handoff between delivery and night shipping.
  • Support delivery leadership.
  • Provide backup support for other admin roles or special projects as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.
