About The Position

The Transportation Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for all maintenance on our fleet of over 160 trucks. The Mechanic will be:  Performing preventative maintenance and required repairs on G&C-owned diesel equipment such as Yard Trucks, Trailers, and Road Tractors. Performing minor repairs to G&C Leased equipment when necessary.  Assist the Transportation Maintenance Supervisor with repairing the wash bay equipment.  Assist with the installation of TeleTrac ELDs, RFID tags, Ezpass, and Drive Cam equipment. Assist with the installation and maintenance of trailer/dolly GPS tracking equipment.  Assist with maintenance of fuel and DEF pumps. Assist with the collection of monthly equipment mileage/hours.  Assist with moving equipment for service purposes. Assist with other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 0-6 of experience in Diesel Truck/Trailer Repair
  • FL Driver's License Required
  • Must have basic mechanic tools

Nice To Haves

  • Air Brake Certification Preferred
  • Diesel Engine Certification Preferred
  • Reefer Experience Preferred
  • CDL A or CLD B Preferred
  • Inspectors License Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performing preventative maintenance and required repairs on G&C-owned diesel equipment such as Yard Trucks, Trailers, and Road Tractors.
  • Performing minor repairs to G&C Leased equipment when necessary.
  • Assist the Transportation Maintenance Supervisor with repairing the wash bay equipment.
  • Assist with the installation of TeleTrac ELDs, RFID tags, Ezpass, and Drive Cam equipment.
  • Assist with the installation and maintenance of trailer/dolly GPS tracking equipment.
  • Assist with maintenance of fuel and DEF pumps.
  • Assist with the collection of monthly equipment mileage/hours.
  • Assist with moving equipment for service purposes.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.
  • Confirm and correct inventory issues/checks.
  • Assists in returns, overages, and shortages.
  • Spot check pallets and ability to verify damaged products are valid.
  • Answer driver calls after 3 pm, Monday-Thursday.
  • Reports any discrepancies to management.
  • Communicate with the Inventory control group to document and correct over- and short-shipped boxes.
