About The Position
GovFirst is seeking multiple Transportation Load Operators (Non -CDL Drivers) for the winter season for various Virginia locations. Open Locations in these below districts for these residencies: Bristol, VA (Abingdon, Lebanon, Wise, Wytheville, Interstate 81 / Interstate 77) Culpeper, VA (Charlottesville, Louisa, Warrenton) Fredericksburg, VA (Fredericksburg, Northern Neck, Saluda) Hampton Roads, VA (Accomac, Franklin, Williamsburg) Lynchburg, VA (Appomattox, Farmville, Halifax) Northern VA (Fairfax, Prince William, Loudoun, Arlington / Interstate) Richmond, VA (Ashland, Chesterfield, Petersburg, South Hill) Salem, VA (Bedford, Christiansburg, Martinsville, Salem) Staunton, VA (Edinburg, Harrisonburg, Lexington)
Requirements
- Experience operating heavy equipment (loader, skid steer, tractor, or equivalent).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Availability and flexibility to respond on short notice during winter storms.
- Ability to work in cold and extreme weather.
- High School Diploma or GED
- US Citizen
Responsibilities
- Operate loaders and other assigned equipment to remove snow from roads, parking lots, and sidewalks.
- Load and haul snow as needed.
- Perform basic pre - and post -operation equipment inspections.
- Work on an as -needed, on -call basis during and after snow events (including daytime, nighttime, weekends, and holidays).
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain regular communication with supervisors.
