About The Position

Michael Baker International is seeking to hire a Summer 2026 Transportation Intern to support our office in Indianapolis, IN. In this internship, you will gain exposure to the transportation industry, learn from Engineers and Project Managers about roadway and bridge design projects, and assist with various departments in technical duties and projects as assigned. Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids. Assist project managers and engineers with various tasks. Draft details and make minor plan revisions in MicroStation. Work under supervision of a project manager or a senior level team member. Assist with data collection, input, verification, and manipulation.

Requirements

• Working toward a Bachelor or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or similar program
• Focus on Transportation Practice preferred
• Software proficiency - Microsoft Office
• Excellent analytical skills
• Strong written/verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in organization and presentation of documentation
• Experience with Microstation and/or AutoCAD preferred
